Daniel Trotta, a Reuters correspondent for U.S. National Affairs, is a 1987 Cal State Fullerton graduate in Communications (news/editorial) who served as Editor in Chief of the Daily Titan and is a 2019 inductee to the Communications Alumni Wall of Fame. His 25-year career at Reuters has included postings in Havana, New York, Madrid, Mexico City and Managua, covering stories such as the normalization of U.S.-Cuban relations, Hurricane Sandy and the Madrid train bombings. Before working at the international news agency he worked for newspapers in the United States including the Orange County Register, the San Antonio Light, and the Oceanside Blade-Tribune. He currently is based in San Diego County covering national affairs including race relations, guns, immigration and LGBTQ rights.
