In this informative and interactive Advocacy 101 workshop, we review the state of homelessness and affordable housing in Orange County, proven solutions, and how to advocate for those solutions. Training includes messaging and how to speak to your city staff and elected/appointed leaders in order to gain approval for permanent supportive and affordable housing developments in your city. Also included is a discussion around the housing element process and how to advocate for equitable housing growth and a discussion about how to win over a NIMBY (spoiler alert: you can’t).
